I could never get my Drinky Bird to work properly. Maybe it was a childhood trauma and made me what I am today. When I saw one in the spaceship in the movie Alien, I knew all was not well.

When I saw that drinky bird in Alien I knew that it was a movie about work. The first real life science fiction movie I had ever seen.
Ha! Me either. Mine always fell over.
Also had a jack-in-the-box that would never deploy properly. The lid failed to open, preventing the clown from ever discovering the pleasure of a happy release...
In the United Snakes, these were a fixture in pediatric dental offices during the '50s & '60s. Indeed, I don't remember seeing them anywhere else.
